The return-to desk: what changed, what matters now, the levels that decide the next move and the catalysts that can invalidate the setup.

Today’s cross-asset map

Oil / Gulf risk

The highest-urgency macro input is the move from shipping threats to physical energy-infrastructure risk around Jazan and the Strait of Hormuz. The trader question is no longer simply headline risk: it is whether tanker traffic, insurance conditions and crude pricing confirm a persistent supply shock.

Decision: Brent holding above the mid-$90s and pressing $100 keeps the inflation/liquidity shock alive. A retreat toward the low-$90s alongside normalized shipping weakens it.

Bitcoin

BTC remains a liquidity barometer while energy risk competes with ETF demand. Weekly U.S. spot-ETF data reported for the five sessions through September 4 showed Bitcoin funds still attracting roughly $987 million net while inflows into Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Hyperliquid products slowed sharply from the prior week. The important signal is divergence rather than panic: institutional demand has remained much firmer for BTC than for the newer altcoin ETF complex.

Confirmation: reclaim and hold above roughly $82.8K. Risk: deeper structural support around $75.7K. Flow read: BTC ETF resilience is constructive, but the weaker altcoin-flow breadth argues against treating every crypto bounce as a broad institutional risk-on signal.

HBAR / enterprise catalyst

Hedera is one of the non-BTC names worth keeping on the active board after the Hedera Council added WISeKey as a Strategic Partner and SpaceDev as a Community Partner. The announcement is an enterprise-adoption catalyst rather than a token cash-flow event, so the trader test is follow-through in network usage, developer activity and sustained relative strength rather than the headline alone.

HBAR decision: constructive only if the partnership narrative converts into durable relative strength and measurable ecosystem activity; a fast reversal with no usage follow-through would weaken the catalyst.

Gold and USD/JPY

Gold is caught between geopolitical demand and post-payroll real-yield pressure, while yen strength is becoming a global-liquidity signal as BOJ policy risk builds. The Bank of Japan released fresh August market-operation and monetary-base data on September 7, keeping the policy-normalization backdrop in focus ahead of the September 17–18 meeting. These markets matter to crypto because a stronger yen and tighter real yields can reduce appetite for leveraged risk.
