DIFC Courts Use Avalanche Credentials to Verify Documents; Confidential Files Stay Offchain
Published 16 October 2026 · Development reported 14 October · NetNapz Newsroom

DIFC Courts have begun issuing court orders and hearing records with nontransferable authenticity credentials recorded on Avalanche C-Chain, according to Emirates News Agency’s report dated 14 October 2026.
What is recorded
The system links a document’s cryptographic fingerprint to an NFT-based credential. Recipients can check origin and integrity; changing the file causes verification to fail. Document contents and confidential case information remain offchain. WAM identifies Deca4 Advisory as the implementation partner and distinguishes this system from the Courts’ Hedera-based notarisation records.
NetNapz assessment: authenticity is not enforceability
This is a practical distinction from speculative NFT trading: the credential is a verification tool, not a transferable investment. It can help a recipient test whether a file is the one issued by the institution, but that does not resolve every question about using the document.
A bank or overseas counterparty still needs to establish the document’s legal effect, whether later orders supersede it and whether its own procedures accept the verification method. A correct digital fingerprint cannot answer those institutional and jurisdictional questions by itself.
The operational tests are similarly concrete. Recipients need accessible verification instructions, reliable links and an explanation of how corrections, revocations and replacement documents are handled. Those are useful follow-up questions, not findings that the present system is defective.
What it means for AVAX
Assessment: a named institution using blockchain infrastructure is stronger evidence of a specific application than a general partnership ambition. However, the economic scale must be measured separately. Court claim values are not blockchain revenue, and document issuance does not establish material purchases or sustained demand for AVAX. Useful follow-up evidence would quantify recurring verification activity, operating costs and continuity over time.
Verification scope
NetNapz checked the full WAM report and the featured logo’s attribution and licence on 16 October. No independent credential verification, contract-state inspection or service testing was performed. The publication date is separate from WAM’s 14 October report date.
